I bought this on Amazon for around $25 because our remotes in the cars are no longer working for our two garage doors because of a Radio Frequency (RF) interference occurring in the area. I have troubleshot the RF interference to a particular circuit coming from the electrical circuit breaker panel nearby. For $25 bucks I figured I would give it a try. I now have the peace of mind that I can still get in the garage from the car should it be raining; a lot cheaper and easier, right now, than re-wiring a circuit from the breaker panel.
The installation was rather simple if you didn’t pay too close to the Chinese interpretation/translation of installation instructions for American users. Very confusing if trying to follow “step 1 . . . “ etc. I am fortunate that I can figure out things from a logical mechanical and electrical standpoint. Once I realized that everything was already wired as necessary and the only thing required was to install the components in the correct location and install and set up the application (app). After that, the performance is just as advertised. I just looked at the functional diagram and was able to figure out where everything goes. All installation parts necessary are provided . . . but just enough.
This system is not for a smart house. It doesn’t work with Google Home, Alexa or whatever home apps you may be using. Many of the reviews on Amazon complained about not working with those systems against what the advertised says. It says it right there!!! It does works great with the advertised home simple 2.4 Ghz network. It does work with both android and iOS operating systems and has a simplified scan code available within the instructions. It really doesn’t get much easier. I had the physical system installed in about 30 minutes. It took another 45 mins – 1hour to figure out the app. The instructions included are not simple.
If you are looking for an inexpensive controller for remote operation of your garage doors, this is the product.
