When it comes to uniqueness of traditional Mexican family cuisine, atmosphere and decor, nothing beats solid family values, good service and good food.
I know not to expect much from any restaurant in the Laughlin/Bullhead area as far as exceptional cuisine, and this being my first time eating here at El Palacio, I wasnβt expecting much. What I found were some unique decor items, some honest service and some decent food that turned the ordinary, into a special meal.
I was sold on βtodayβs specialβ of the carnitas. I had originally desired either the carnitas or the chili relleno plate as these are a couple of items I regularly order to help me discern the differences and qualities a Mexican restaurant possesses.
Tom was our server and immediately helped identify different menu items that catered to the desires of everyone in our party. He also brought out some house made chips and salsa along with the El Palacioβs trademark refried beans to also accompany the chips. Tom helped me select the carnitas because it was βtodayβs specialβ as apposed to the chili relleno that was ordered by another guest seated at our table. This is the first time I had carnitas mixed with jalapeΓ±o chiliβs that gave it just a bit of heat. The overall flavor was acceptable, the portions adequate and the added element of the chilis set El Palacio apart from other carnitas I have ever encountered. I left satisfied and pleased.

The decor in the restaurant was also very unique and entertaining. They even had hand made sinks in the restrooms and hand-crafted barstools with different carvings at the bar. El Palacio provided a solid dining experience all around.
El Palacio has now expanded into other local areas with a few other restaurants under different names. Check βem out to get your Mexican on.
