Yard House πŸ†πŸ†πŸ† This ain’t your momma’s cookin’.

Yard House

It’s the Yard House for gosh sake. A good place for a work lunch thing or maybe an after work pint and an app before going home to the wife’s real cooking. Nothing to get all worked up about.

We started with a 1.5 foot long beer that equates to only two beers (32oz) at just a bit more than twice the price. Hmmm. We also ordered the Grilled Korean BBQ Beef appetizer that was very tasty, with large enough of a portion for a full meal. This app was the highlight of today’s order.

We ordered one chicken-something BBQ salad that was very gringo and anticipated. We also ordered a Cuban Sandwich twist that was ok, but may have been a slight bit better if the onion rings were served a bit closer to the time they were taken out of the fryer. Same issue with the fries that were served with chicken tenders (these were not good, not crunchy and basically flavorless) on another plate. Even the wife and I looked at each other saying, ” these are tenders?”. The tenders were more like chewy dog treats. Fries were obviously not fresh from the fryer. It really does matter.

The architecture and design is nice. They did a good job with the construction and it is a nice facility. Very nice sound system playing classic rock and several tv screens inside and outside.

Service and staff were good and our server (Gia, I think . . . rhymes with Mia) was very good and thorough and a nice addition and attraction for the macho-beer-driven-sport-office staff to watch along with the game.

A nice addition, but I don’t work in the mall or nearby, so I may only ever visit again when San Diego gets a good football team. LOL
